Job Description

Are you looking for a varied Assistant Accountant role? Do you fancy escaping early every Friday?

Wallis Lynch are working with a prestigious client based in Coventry to recruit an Assistant Accountant to join their busy team.

In this role you will be assisting the Financial Director in the production of accounts, budgets and forecasts. You will also support in the ad hoc analysis of business performance within the division and you will assist with the administration of purchase ledger and you will provide general administrative support.

You will be responsible for the provision of daily performance reports to management including banking summary, assisting in preparation of monthly/statutory accounts to deadlines, entering and coding financial transactions appropriately, tracking expenses as they relate to specific projects and jobs, issuing invoices to customers based on services rendered and/or goods sold and chasing payment, calculating and checking to ensure payments, amounts and records are correct, controlling credit and chasing debt, and reconciling finance accounts and direct debits.

As the ideal candidate you will have a good standard of education and be AAT qualified or working towards. Vitally, you will have previous experience with bookkeeping practices and knowledge of accounting terminology previous office experience. It is also crucial that you have good IT skills and you are confident using all Microsoft packages, especially Excel. You should also have excellent attention to detail and accuracy skills, Analytical skills, Knowledge of accountant rules and legislation, and you will have excellent Numeracy skills.

In addition you should also have excellent communication skills and the ability to communicate with people at all levels, a great problem solving ability, strong team player, excellent interpersonal skills, good planning and organisational skills, you should hold the ability to prioritise your workload and meet strict deadlines.
