Wallis Lynch are currently engaged with a Coventry based Charity to assist in the recruitment of an experienced Management Accountant to lead the day to dat activities of their local finance department. Reporting to the team of Directors you will take the lead on the preparation of monthly management accounts and the drive the production of the year end statutory requirements.
About the role:
Working in liaison with other department heads you will lead a team of two finance assistants to ensure that all financial policies and procedures are delivered in a timely and accurate manner. You will be responsible for setting the team objectives and ensuring they have the tools and support to achieve those objectives, monitored through daily liaison as well as regular one to one meetings. You will work closely with other budget holders to ensure each department is running within budget and exceeding operational performance KPI's. You will take the lead on the budget process and prepare and present the month management accounts as well as taking the lead on activities such as Balance sheet reconciliation, preparation of P&L reports and various financial analysis based upon the monthly cycle and various project work.
Our client would ideally like a professionally qualified accountant who has a strong technical understanding but will also consider someone who is qualified by experience and has demonstrable experience of working in a similar role within the charitable sector. Comprehensive experience of monthly management accounting and statutory accounting will be essential. Previous experience of using Sage Line systems is highly advantageous too. Our clients environment presents the need to undertake quite complex reconciliation's at times too so a good eye for such would be great!

Our client operate a 37 hour working week with a slightly earlier finish on Fridays. In addition to the salary on offer they offer a NEST pension and have already set time aside in Mid November for interviews so are ready to review CV's immediately.
